Empulse™ saw the freight train called the “microcomputer revolution” coming over twenty-five years ago, long before IBM even sold their first PC. We have been providing technology related expertise and services to businesses and individuals ever since. Empulse™ is the longest-lived computer consulting firm still active in Western Massachusetts.

Our initial focus was two-fold:

• Selling and supporting computers running a variety of operating systems (Xenix, CP/M, DS-DOS, AppleDOS) running on computers with names like ALTOS, Heath/Zenith, Apple, Radio Shack and Atari.
• Classroom training covering software, hardware and operations – from the basics to advanced. In fact, many of our earlier students are working as computer professionals in their own right.

In the intervening years, we have developed expertise in a wide range of computer-related technologies.  We have engineered and installed networks, servers, software  and stand alone systems in a variety of enterprises ranging from medical, legal, construction, financial services and retail.

SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT: We have developed software for a variety of different industries and applications including:

• A Medical Record Tracking application for a major East Coast academic medical center
• An electronic patient record application incorporating signiture application for a major East Coast Academic medical center.
• A personnel, treatment record and management database application for an EMS service.
• A specialty brokerage trading and record keeping application for an international financial services firm.
• Fund Raising/Development software package for an internationally known arts venue and school.
• A municipal property valuation and record-keeping application.
• Inventory Management, sales tracking and customer relationship management application for a large art gallery.

On the consulting side, we have assisted some of the Nation's most prestigious medical centers and medical service facilities in 40 states to improve workflow, streamline medical documentation, organize data and improve their revenue stream.
