The SafeBank Project

Stash your laptop securely away for a short time and recharge the battery while you grab a quick lunch, meet with a colleque or attend a lecture. While you are at it, recharge your iPhone as well. Tthat is the concept behind the Safebank Charging System.  The Safebank system is a bank of mini-safes that can be rented by the hour simply by sliding a credit card through a reader and selecting an available unit. Each safe is equipped with a 2 outlet electrical receptacle and is connected to a touch-screen enabled kiosk which contains the system for opening each safe and enabling the transaction.

Empulse designed, installed and maintains the SafeBank system.  The one below is installed at Rutgers Univeristy in Camden New Jersey.

Each safe has an electrical outlet for laptop, cell phone, and i-pod charging.
Each unit has an interior electrical outlet for charging laptop and cell phone.
Safebank Rental in Student Union building at Rutgers Univ, Camden NJ. Safes are available for rent by the hour.
